Why is it that when Mr. Obama is questioned about just about anything, it is always from the “Anti-Obama” crowd? Apparently, the faceless voices of the Internet and their representatives have created enough buzz about Mr. Obama’s Presidential eligibility based on his birth that the Supreme Court is considering hearing arguments. Seeking the truth and confirmation of the truth obviously makes these people anti-Obama. I guess that’s like verbalizing your disdain for any government policy can potentially make you an enemy combatant.
I am not anti-Obama; I am pro-truth. The office of the President of the United States of America requires the utmost scrutiny, which I believe has not been done for Mr. Obama. He is still quite an obscure figure to most of us and many of the issues brought forth during the campaign season were merely water-cooler chat.
For example, President Bush had a DWI from more than 20 years ago, and when he ran for election in 2000 and even re-election in 2004, this matter was thoroughly investigated by the mainstream media; however, a self confessed (and might I add confused) drug user (of hard core drugs) and peddler makes mention of his indiscretions and the mainstream media jokes about it.
While I am not a fan of illegal drug usage, alcoholism, or selling drugs; there is no Constitutional standard for a President relating to these issues. There is however, mention of citizenship. You know, that part right before the line about he/she being at least 35 years of age—I think it’s in Article 2, Section 1 of that really old, allegedly antiquated document, the U.S. Constitution.
Therefore, this matter is of the utmost importance and the proper due diligence must be given to this matter. Unfortunately, those who have raised the issue and those who are tasked with evaluating the legitimacy of such “minor matters” as the citizenship of our next President are considered to be “the real die-hard, anti-Obama crowd” according to Michael Harrison, editor and publisher of Talkers magazine.
I think it is truly sad when “we the people” demand for the Constitutional standard to be equally and fairly applied to a situation and “we the people” are mocked and coined “anti-Obama.” Why can’t we all just be pro-truth?
